Instructions for Earning Online CE

Journal of Neuroscience Nursing articles published prior to 2009

Please read the following instructions before taking a CE exam.

  1. If you have never taken an online CE exam with AANN, you will need to register with Nurses Learning. Please keep in mind that this login is separate from your AANN Members Only login, but we encourage that you use the same username and password for both so that they are easier to keep track of.

  2. Select and read the article(s) of your choice. These articles are available in .pdf format and each article should open in another browser window.

  3. Select the corresponding exam from the list of articles by clicking on the "Online Testing Center" link beneath the article you have just read (link is highlighted in the red box below).
    Step 3

  4. Answer the post exam questions and then click on "Grade Test." You will need to log in and enter your member number in the yellow box to receive the Members Only discount. If you are not taken to the login screen shown below, you must clear your browser's cache (please check your browser's help file to determine the correct process) and then take the exam again. It is a good idea to routinely clear your browser's cache, so if you have not done so in a while, you may want to clear your cache before taking any exams.
    Step 4
Note: AANN Members pay $7.50 per CE hour earned. If you are not a member of AANN, you will be prompted to pay $15 with a credit card for the CE exam before the exam is graded.

  5. Once you have logged in, select "Grade Test" to continue (highlighted in red below).
    Step 5

  6. You must answer 8 of 10 questions correctly in order to pass the exam. If you do not pass the exam the first time, you are allowed to retake the exam a second time.

  7. Once you pass the exam, you are required to complete an evaluation form in order to receive your CE certificate. Complete the form and submit it (the form will prompt you if you miss a question).
  8. You will then be taken to a page with your CE certificate. Please print the certificate and retain it for your records. It is up to you to keep track of the CE you have earned.

  9. If you wish to take another exam, please be sure to return to the list of articles using the link at the top of the certificate page (highlighted in red below). This will ensure that you continue to receive your Members Only discount.
    Step 9

If you need to update your information simply go to www.nurseslearning.com.  Once there, you need to "LOGIN", then click on "YOUR RECORDS."  You will then be able to:

  • CE Log Book: Keep track of your classes! It's online and it's easy! Your transcript provides you with a list of all courses you have started and/or completed. All course information is provided, including status, start and finish dates, and exam scores. Additionally, you can add other courses to your record that you have completed elsewhere so that you will have one complete record of all your continuing education achievements. You can also print your record to document your achievements to certification and licensing agencies.
  • Modify your registration information:  If you need to update your address, change your password, or modify any other registration information, this is the place to do it.
  • Request your password:  If you've lost or forgotten your username or password, the Nurses Learning Network Administrator can send it to you via email. Just go to "LOGIN" and click the link "Request Your Password."
