American Association of Neuroscience Nurses’
Journal of Neuroscience Nursing Receives Impact Factor
Glenview, IL— November 2011 — The Journal of Neuroscience Nursing, the official journal of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses, has received its first-ever Impact Factor rating of .78 for 2010.
“We are very excited that JNN earned a favorable Impact Factor in our first year,” says Editor V. Susan Carroll, MS RN CNE. “With an Impact Factor rating, JNN’s professional impact is made larger, and the organization and JNN Editorial Board are very pleased.”
A publication’s Impact Factor is calculated based on the amount of cites and citations on content in the literature, or the impact of the journal’s content on the profession. The Impact Factor is then used by librarians, researchers, and publishers to assist in the development and management of journal collections.
Work to determine JNN’s ranking began in 2008, with the first Impact Factor awarded this year. JNN’s Impact Factor ranking will now be recalculated annually.
The Journal of Neuroscience Nursing, the official journal of AANN, contains original articles on advances in neurosurgical and neurological techniques as they affect nursing care, theory and research, as well as commentary on the roles of the neuroscience nurse in the health care team. Journal content is overseen by the editor, staff and volunteers that comprise the JNN Editorial Board.
