Neuroscience Nurses Week | NNW Logo 09 (red)

  • Use posters, news releases for internal newsletters/publications, and local media before and during your events to promote your Neuroscience Nurses Week activities. Download the official logo to use on your promotional materials.
  • Obtain an official proclamation from your Governor, Mayor, or CEO of your organization in observance of Neuroscience Nurses Week. Contact local media to promote the week and your institution.
  • Send/post invitations for events to staff, volunteers, and the community.
  • Decorate your facility/unit for Neuroscience Nurses Week.
  • Photograph your events.
  • Start Neuroscience Nurses Week with a Kick-off Event or Open House.
  • Continue throughout Neuroscience Nurses Week with events such as: a luncheon for Neuroscience Nurses, a recognition ceremony for CNRNs, Patients' Day, educational seminars, and community outreach activities (e.g. an injury prevention program or stroke screening).
  • Neuroscience Nurses Day: If your organization cannot devote the entire week to celebrate, designate a day during Neuroscience Nurses Week to hold your events.
  • The week following Neuroscience Nurses Week, send out post-event news releases with photos to internal newsletters/publications and the local media, post photos on a prominent bulletin board in your facility, or send "thank you" letters to all who assisted.
  • Submit your ideas and/or success stories to AANN for inclusion in Synapse E-News. Send to Lori Barker, national staff, at lbarker@aann.org.

Important: Contact your institution or administration offices for guidelines and approval of your events, if necessary.

Thank you for participating in Neuroscience Nurses Week! Feel free to use these ideas as well as your own to create your own special celebration, and please don't forget to share your ideas with AANN!
