Exciting Times Ahead for AANN

Where has the year gone? I have been told that as we age, time goes by more quickly—now I really believe it! It is hard to imagine that in a very short time, we will be gathering in Las Vegas at our annual educational meeting. I am looking forward to meeting many of you for the first time at the newcomer's reception, networking with old friends and colleagues in the exhibit halls, and listening to and viewing the marvelous and informational sessions that many of you are going to present through concurrent sessions and poster presentations.
AANN will continue to work on many new and exciting improvements and changes in the coming years. Journal of Neuroscience Nursing, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, has a new publisher, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW). LWW is already taking JNN to the next level, featuring it across the country. Through LWW, we are in the process of revamping our method of providing CEUs. More information about this will be forthcoming.
AANN will roll out a new Web site design at the annual educational meeting and follow this unveiling with a blast e-mail to all members that highlights the new design. The new Web site was designed to reflect your feedback about the current Web site. I am sure you will be as delighted as I was when I saw the prototype. It is easier to navigate and much more user friendly.
Another item we are working on is a new strategic plan to help guide the organization forward as we navigate through these difficult economic times. More information will come to you through all avenues of communication, so stay tuned. Please continue to give us feedback on how we are doing and the things you would like us to do for you as a member.
Though we all practice in different environments, we all are striving for excellence in patient care and quality outcomes. As my year as your president comes to a close, I want to thank every one of you for the care and compassion that you have for your neuroscience patients.
